We just got back from our last trip of the summer, a short visit with Beck and the bro in the flat lands of Eastern Colorado. We had a great time seeing their cool new house, cooking in their awesome new kitchen, hiking and riding almost every day. We also learned a few things along the way...
- Clicking off the miles on the flat roads north of Denver was a blast.
- The 98 degree heat...not so much.
- The price of bison in the ranch lands was incredible.
- The price of produce at the Boulder farmer's market...not so much.
- The roads in Eastern Colorado are long and straight.
- Sometimes the roads in Easter Colorado just end.
- Flowering alfalfa fields smell great.
- 98 Degree dairy farms...not so great.
- Pomegranate martinis are GOOOOD!
- At the right coffee shop Colorado can feel a bit like Italy.
Little M was a rock star. The highlight was when she hammered up the Boulder Creek Trail and couldn't figure out why we stopped when the pavement ended.
But all that's done .... the summer is drawing to a close...a few bike races left and then ...it's back to 'Mr. Fun'.

i've heard eastern CO compared to our central valley more than once. it certainly sounds similar.
i wish i could be a student in all of you teachers' classrooms, just for a little bit.

PAB if you were in Ms. K's class you wouldn't stand a chance. You might be tough for a day or two. Then she would make you cry,
in front of your class,
with your mom on speaker phone.
After that you'd learn some math :).
oooh how i do love a challenge...
alas, those skills i had worked so hard to develop as a youth, there just is not a proper use for them now in these, my kinder gentler days....

marscat: bison is amazing...leaner and more tasty than beef. they sell it at the berkeley whole foods. we love it!
