Today, across Berkeley middle schools, was the math portion of the CST (California Standards Test). You know, the No Child Left Behind brew-haha.

Miz C is bringing fun treats on Friday for the last day of this marathon.
I like chocolate cupcakes with orange icing!
Isn't that Edward James Olmos? And why does he have his hand down his pants while teaching??
Chris: You can find the real-deal here
You know what's weird about the whole "no child" thing and the standardized testing whoopla? I was riding my bike through Rodeo or Pinole or somewhere today and some high school was flying a banner about how their scores have gone up by an average of 50 points. The same people that have been so reticent to go to the testing are now patting themselves on the back for the improvement. Sure they are testing to the test, but maybe the stuff on the test is what the kids should know in the first place. Maybe? Dunno, but the banner (and trying to noodle all this through) got me through a pretty pathetic workout. My legs still hurt from the mtb race on Saturday.
that guy in the picture used to be ed olmos, he was a cat 3 25 years ago. we had some good sprinting deuls in central park.
