Weights and measures
mute gastronome pleasures
as we approach this season of cheer
Progress we plot
with a kilo and watt
while abstaining from Malt Balls and Beer.
A foodies true test:
Abstain when noshing's the best
and just watch with a grin and a tear.
Is it worth it? Who knows?
Surely the races will show!
But for now know there's less of us here.

that's candy, baby!
yes, the poetry is great...
but that body fat caliper...not so much.
I cannot dispute
that your poems are cute
although they are not all of my type
and although its no fun to have dyslexia
its not as serious as anorexia
which we hope is not the next fashion
so don't get lost in the metre
you be sure to feed her
both your daughter and mine.
Here I sit munching,
Dyslexic and crunching,
Wishing I had your control.
The Xmas ale is grand,
Malt ball chaser in hand,
my scale’s spring beginning to unroll.
So I raise my beer glass
To your greatness and class
Saluting your difficult goal.
For the challenge is the more great,
When others your destination berate
Just remember that quitters get coal.
Do these bon-bons make my butt look big?
