"The way the test was designed and implemented would never pass muster in any other regulatory situation."
"Lausanne was keen to rush through the test, perhaps prematurely," he said. "But it was only a matter of days before they started to get the results we wanted to see."
I'm sorry but I thought the tests were supposed to be done anonymously and objectively. If you're potentially going to destroy some one's life you better conduct yourself in a manner that is beyond reproach! Otherwise the UCI should just pick the winner of each race and we can all go watch Cirque du Soleil.
There are more parts of the story here and here.

i totally agree that the tests need to be very accurate with known rates of false positive and false negative results....which was not done with this test
but i still think he is guilty
Me too...
but I think the appearance of an arbitrary, politically motivated testing system is a dangerous to the popular appeal of the sport as any doper. It would be great if we could find a system that eliminates both.
If the pee is tainted, let it speak for itself in good careful time... no need for the lab rats to know who's pee it is & inflict potential bias. BTW, I hope the photo is of beer samples and not the end result.
Pint night.
